Discover the best kept secret in Santa Monica. Bowls is an internationally popular and dynamic sport which can be enjoyed by anyone. It is gender neutral and suitable for ages 9 to 90 with skills and strategy being the primary factors in overall success. Whether you are looking for recreational exercise, a new sport or hobby, or to enhance your social life, lawn bowling is the game for you.

Our club is located in beautiful Douglas Park, less than 3 miles from the beach. All you need is a pair of sneakers and we'll provide the rest.

Bowls, or lawn bowls, is a sport in which the objective is to roll biased balls so that they stop close to a smaller ball called a "jack" or "kitty".
​
It is played on a bowling green, which may be flat, or convex, or uneven, and is typically played outdoors.
The surface is either natural grass, artificial turf or cotula (in New Zealand).

Bowls is a great venue for getting together with friends, or becoming part of your exercise regiment and socializing routine.

Whether you are new to bowls or an experienced bowler looking for a friendly game, you are always welcome at Santa Monica Bowls!

We love to have visitors come to the club watch a game. If interested, first time bowlers can set up at time for a free introductory lesson with a coach to get started.
For a mere $25 you can become a member of the club for 30 days. Full use of the green and all equipment to practice or bowl with us on our regular days (please see our schedule of games). After your 30 days are up you can become a Full Member at a prorated fee of just $12/month (plus you get a credit of your initial Associate Member fee!).
We encourage you to sign up with friends so you can get a good game going. But solo players are welcome as well.
Our Club has 100% membership in Bowls USA and Southwest Bowls. Members are eligible to participate in Southwest Division, national and inter national tournaments.

Members have full rights and privileges at Santa Monica Bowls to participate in all club events, practice when the greens are open, vote at official club meetings and serve on the Board.
